Beechcraft has always positioned itself as the premium brand in the general aviation market, and the Beech Duchess is no exception. As the primary rival to the Piper Seminole, the Duchess offers numerous upgrades and refined handling characteristics that earned it a reputation as one of the finest light twin trainers ever built. Unfortunately, its production run was cut short by the fuel and economic crisis of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Ultimately, Beechcraft chose to focus on higher-margin aircraft, including the Baron and King Air series.
New multi-engine pilots quickly feel at ease with the Duchess's handling and performance. At the center of the panel is a Garmin G500 TXi Primary Flight Display (PFD) and Multi-Function Display (MFD), complimented by a Garmin G5 serving as a backup attitude indicator and electronic flight instrument.
Navigation is provided by a Garmin GNS 430W WAAS GPS, while an ADS-B Out GTX 330ES transponder ensures compliance with current airspace requirements. The aircraft is also equipped with a backup communication radio and transponder, providing additional redundancy and reliability.
To further enhance safety and capability, this aircraft is outfitted with the highest-level STC-approved autopilot available for the platform.
